The post-World War II era saw the rise of the kid’s bicycle as the ultimate must-have toy for young ones. It was then made by a number of manufacturers including Montgomery Ward, Mead, Sears Roebuck, and soon after, Schwinn, all of whom were looking to revive the industry of bicycles. The design of these bicycles will later be known as classic. These were quite heavy for young ones, however, having designs similar to motorcycles and even space rockets and jets. By the 60s, simplicity came into the scene, as these bikes became lighter and shed the frills.
